How good is the Moon Knight Series?
As part of the phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the first season of the Moon Knight series ran from March 30th 2022 to May 4th 2022. The Moon Knight Series has been described by many as the best Marvel series ever and with stellar performances from Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy, it's really difficult not to agree. But how good exactly is this series that has earned praises from different quarters?
Well based on my rankometer, the Moon Knight with an overall rating of 7.2/10 is Marvel's best series so far bettering the likes of WandaVision (7/10),What if (6.8/10), Loki (6.7/10), Hawkeye (6.5/10), The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (6/10) and others. And oh, these are my own ratings though. That been said, what were the short comings that prevented this glorious series from reaching a 10/10 or even a 9/10. Well let's see and judge.

Episode three
Rating: 4.5/10
•Definitely my worst episode
•Unsteady camera. As Marc fights some bad guys on rooftops, the camera dangles about making the scene difficult to watch.
•And this fight scene is the most annoying I have ever seen. First one of the bad guys throws his knife up and catches it, which is quite unnecessary if you ask me. The same guy then sort of draws a semi-circle on the floor with his knife, and all Marc does is to ask him 'Are we dancing or fighting?'
• When Khonshu meets with the other gods in the pyramid of Giza, the other avatars are fully possessed by their respective gods from the start to the end of the meeting. However Khonshu only possesses Marc when he wants to speak so we see Oscar Isaac transition from Marc to Khonshu and from Khonshu to Marc during this scene. Why? Eventually, one of the other avatars says 'Let us speak with Marc' and Marc is supposedly freed from Khonshu's possession. The question then is; if the gods requested for an audience with Marc does it mean Marc had been fully under Khonshu's possession up until that point? If the answer to this is yes we are faced with yet another question; why then did Marc seem unsettled and stressed out each time Khonshu was done speaking through him? But the most important question here is why didn't Khonshu possess Marc the way the other gods did? I guess we may never know.
• I'm not done yet with the meeting at the pyramid. So the gods blatantly believed all that Harrow said in the same vein they failed to take Khonshu seriously. Why? How come the gods could not detect that Harrow was lying and why didn't they make any attempt to investigate Khonshu's claim instead of just dismissing they case the way they did?
• Layla meets Marc in Cairo and as they speak, Marc looks up at Khonshu for six seconds and Layla doesn't even ask him what he's looking at neither does she look up also to see what for herself what Marc is looking at instead she keeps staring at Marc who is staring at Khonshu himself. Why?
• At Anton's place, Layla engages in a fight with Bek which ultimately leads to her stabbing him with her neck piece. However as she leaps into the air to do so, she seems to pause for a second or so in the air before she stabs Bek. This is extremely difficult to notice but re-watching this scene with a keen eye proves me right.
• How come Harrow was able to 'see through' Layla and know about her father's death and all? This is one of the instances that shows us exactly how overpowered is. I mean Harrow is so overpowered that we literally forgot for most part of the series that he was just a normal person like everyone else and not even an avatar yet, since he only became Ammit's avatar in episode six.
Episode Four
Rating: 7/10
• In Ammit's tomb what exactly were Harrow's men shooting at? At first we think it was the strange creature that sacrificed one of Harrow's men and later tried to kill Layla. Then we still hear Harrow's men shooting even after Layla's fight with the creature which ended when she threw it into a pit. So what then were Harrow's men still shooting at?
• Marc's dumbness. For someone who was once a US Navy Seal, Marc's decision to fight Harrow and his men while Ammit's ushabti was in his custody seems pretty dumb to me. Like he should have given Layla the ushabti to escape with it, just as a precaution, while he confronted Harrow's men.
• I must commend Ethan Hawke for his superb acting throughout this episode. And the look on his face as he shot Marc was just perfect. Ice cold.
Despite all of these, the Moon Knight is a very good series. The actors just took the acting to another whole level. The visual effects department also deserve massive accolades. They really brought Khonshu's, Ammit's and Taweret's characters to life. The Moon Knight series is still streaming on Disney plus in case you want to re-watch it.
